3. Backlit

Still using my 50mm lens. Close-up this time into the light. I had to try several f-stops  and exposure compensations then a lot of editing in RAW. This is the best I could do. Not a perfect flower and not quite true to colour. It is a hollyhock which seeded itself in the garden. It is a beautiful delicate lemon colour.

  2. Your post brought back happy memories for me. My grandmother had hollyhocks and I loved them. It has been a long, long time since I have seen any.

  3. I love hollyhocks… They remind me of growing up in the midwest. I have tried to grow them here in the south and have never had any luck. Yours are beautiful.

    • Thank you, Mindy. These just appeared. Several more have grown this year too. Not in the right places but they are so pretty . I suspect if I sowed them where I wanted them to grow I would not be successful!
